It’s less than 24 hours to the close of 2019 and we present to you the list of top ten songs, that enjoyed a massive play at weddings during the year.

As an events freak doubling as a blogger, I have certainly been to many events this year, weddings inclusive. Considering this, I am in a better position to have a fair idea of the kinds of songs played at these events. But with respect to this article, let us zero it down to only weddings.

However, in a bid to present an unbiased and credible list of songs, I consulted the wedding Masters. I call them the wedding masters because, they are the brains behind most of the most eye-popping wedding set arrangements you see at weddings. They include the decors, the emcees, the DJs themselves, just to mention a few. Their opinions amongst other inquiries brought forth these top ten songs.

Meanwhile, I would be giving brevity of thoughts on only the top five songs on the list. It would also be fair to note that, these thoughts are not solely mine but on the collective opinion of many.

1. Can’t let you go – Sarkodie

The BET award-winning rapper upon releasing this tune for his wedding back in 2018, it caught fire from the get-go through to this year too. Indisputably, it emerged atop of the list of top ten wedding songs owing to the fact that it was played and was often on rewind at most weddings within the year under review. Many others including myself could attest to it that, it was usually the couples’ entrance tune at countless wedding receptions. It was again noted as one of the most requested songs by the couple during these weddings.

2. Melissa – Shatta Wale

Well, this 2019 smash hit from the multiple dancehall award-winner, Shatta Wale also got massive plays at weddings within the year. When couples were stepping on the dancefloor for the first time after tying the knot, most of them opted for Melissa.Read this: Shatta Wale unleashes the wonders off his Wonder Boy album, out now.

3. Ololo – Stonebwoy ft Teni

Stonebwoy’s collaborative piece featuring Teni from Nigeria virtually made it into the playlist of many wedding reception DJs. The tune apart from being about how couples should stay close to each other, also had such an irresistible banging feel. This most probably contributed to how big the song was within the year.Read also: Stonebwoy wins Best dancehall artist for the third time at the AFRIMA, see full list of winners.

4. Bra – King Promise ft Kwadwo Antwi

The King of high vocal prowess, King Promise did not fail to add his usual charming touch to this tune he featured the legendary highlife act, Kwadwo Antwi on. The song dubbed ‘Bra’ with its excellent vocal blend from these artistes got many addicted to the replay button. The romantic feel of the song coupled with the never disappointing composition of King Promise and the legend did magic to the song. Newlyweds could resist it neither.

5. Ohemaa – Kuami Eugene ft Kidi

The Lynx entertainment brothers, Kuami Eugene and Kidi got many singing along their ‘Ohemaa’ tune and at weddings, it was no different. Many could relate to the song, like the one about the love between a man and a queen just as the title of the song, ‘Ohemaa’ which means queen suggested. Moreover, that beautiful composition about love caught the hearts of many and newlyweds could not help but dance to the vibe of this beautiful piece too.

6. Mo ne yo – Diana Hamilton

7. Yes I do – Becca featuring Tiwa Savage

8. Mea – Kelvin Boy

9. Saara – Sarkodie featuring Efya.

10. Come and see my mother – MzVee featuring Yemi Alade
