The annual people’s choice awards, NET Honours has released its list of nominations for this year. The awards event is set to roll out its fourth edition, this June.

The scheme organized by ID Africa, owners of Nigerian Entertainment Today(NETng), awards Nigerians and individuals across Africa and the world. Thus, they recognize individuals and events that have shaped the pop culture within the year of contention.

The awards include among other categories, Industry A-Listers, Most Popular Celebrities, Most Searched Musicians, and The People’s favorite actors.

Moreover, just as last year, Ghana again got a nod in this edition. Ghana’s finest rapper and multiple BET Award winner, Sarkodie got nominated for the ‘Most Popular African Celebrity’ award, alongside Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim. Others competing in the same category include the likes of multiple Grammy award winner, Angelique Kidjo, Diamond Platnumz and Nasty C.

Other nominees include Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Mercy Johnson as well as Ronaldo, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z, Messi amongst others. Nominations were based on verified data from Net.ng, Neusroom, 234Star, and Orin platforms on the web and social media.

Meanwhile, the 2020 NET Honour is slated for Saturday, 13 June. It will be held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
