Beyoncé finally releases visuals for her Lion King: The Gift album feature with Shatta Wale, ALREADY. The most highly anticipated music video for Beyoncé‘s 2019 hit, Already after severally weeks of trending in Ghana, has finally been released.
The music video which features Beyonce herself and Ghana’s Shatta Wale saw Beyonce in a dance performance at various locations in Ghana. Which again confirms she was actually in the country as she revealed yesterday on Good Morning America.
Shatta Wale in his part in the music video, magnificently displayed his craft posing as a Black King, just as the song and the theme, Black Is King suggests. Shatta Wale was also seen warmly connecting with Beyonce as they performed their various parts of the song in the music video.
Shatta Wale makes biggest Ghana music history
This comes as a major feat for Shatta Wale and for the Ghana music industry. Though not the first of its kind in Ghana, as it follows Sarkodie’s major feature with AceHood, this can be touted as the biggest so far in Ghana’s music history. That is for numerous reasons, including the fact that it was part of a major world music project, Lion King: The Gift album by one of the biggest world music superstars, Beyonce. And more so because it is also part of Beyonce‘s super historic film, Black Is King.
Moreover, it is also a big plus to Ghana’s growing prominence in the global music scene. Last year, Ghana stood tall when Sarkodie won the world’s first-ever Best International Flow at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. Ghana again got a massive representation in Beyonce’s album, as it featured Shatta Wale.
Therefore, if this year there is this major historic event to add to Ghana’s image in music globally, Ghanaians must be really proud and curious because it is about to get even more exciting for Ghana.
