Ebony Reigns driver arrested and remanded facing court trial

Ebony’s death was caused by the driver’s decision to swerve a heap of sand on his lane as he drove. This, unfortunately, led to the accident that caused the gory demise of singer, Ebony Reigns, Franklina Maame Yaa Nkansah, and Lance Corporal Vondee Atsu Francis.

This was according to the narrative of Police Chief Inspector, Jonas Newlove Agyei on the cause of the accident, which took place on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway on February 8, 2018.

Therefore, the driver in question has been arrested and remanded into police custody, following a trial at the Nkawie Circuit Court.

The driver, Okoh Pinehas Chartey pleaded not guilty to the charges of dangerous driving and driving without a license when he appeared before the court. However, he will be reappearing before the court presided by Mr. Johnson Abbey on March 24, 2021.

Meanwhile, prior to this, investigations by Chief Inspector Agyei further revealed that Ebony’s driver, Okoh’s driving license had expired on August 28, 2015.
