2022 Top 10 Spotify Ghana streams, what Ghanaians listened to in 2022.

Every year, the digital music streaming platform, Spotify provides year-long data of streams by citizens of each country. Dubbed Spotify Wrapped, the data shows what people have been listening to throughout the year on the platform.

This year’s Spotify Wrapped data for Ghana showed Ghanaians listened to a lot of artists outside Ghana. Thus, aside from their Ghanaian artists, Ghanaians largely allowed foreign artists to also thrive in Ghana.

Thus, Ghanaian music lovers listened to a lot of global hits and hits from other African countries. This is another proof of Ghanaians’ extremely hospitable nature. It has also cemented Ghana’s place as the ‘Gateway to Africa’ as these songs resonated with many across the African continent.

Moreover, Spotify’s head of music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu had this to say about Ghana:

“This year, Ghanaians have shown that music is indeed a universal language. Spotify Wrapped results show Ghanaians are as welcoming of international influences as local ones and those from the wider African continent.”
