My son died, but my daughter collapsed and was rushed to the hospital – Dede Ayew sadly recounts

Ghana BlackStars captain, Andre Dede Ayew speaks following Ghana’s exit from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He recounts the game against Uruguay which led to their exit as unfortunate. This is because that is not what the team expected as they keenly wanted to progress in the tournament.

Dede Ayew revealed his godson died before the team’s game with Portugal. His daughter was also rushed to the hospital after the Uruguay game after he collapsed. He prayed for the soul of his godson, Adam to rest in peace as he noted his daughter is now recovering speedily.

Thus, the iconic Ghanaian footballer was going through a hard time during the tournament. This was possibly a cause of some of his shortcomings during the World Cup games. It was not easy for him, he sadly recounts.

However, Dede Ayew remarked he is very proud of his teammates for bringing forth their best during the tournament. He is highly convicted they would come back stronger and better than now.

Bringing his statement to a close, he quoted a popular Ghanaian adage:
