Wizkid refuses to perform at his concert in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, but runs to perform in Benin, Cotonou.
Well, at this point it seems star boy Wizkid is on a show-flopping spree. From flopping his Wizkid Live in Ghana, he flops yet another show in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Wizkid refused again refused to perform at his Abidjan concert, leaving scores of Ivorian fans stranded and infuriated. Reports indicate his team was in Abidjan but Wizkid failed to turn up and perform for reasons yet to be confirmed.
However, Wizkid jetted to Cotonou, Benin to perform at his other concert there. The music star was billed for the two shows on the same night by the same organizers. So, he was supposed to perform in Abidjan early in the night and jet off to Cotonou for the next show.
Unfortunately, Wizkid stood his Ivorian fans up at his concert in Abidjan whiles he went straight to Benin to perform. One of the show’s organizers, Willy Dumbo angered by what he did had this to say.
“Everyone has been paid. All fees have been paid. Wizkid had to play in Abidjan before going to Cotonou. I can’t ask you to stay for someone who doesn’t respect you.
A press release will be issued as soon as possible. But don’t worry, the rest of wizkid’s staff, that is to say, musicians are in Abidjan. They won’t move until Wizkid gives back what he needs to give back,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Wizkid concert in Abidjan was scheduled to take place at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire, Côte d’Ivoire. This no-show incident follows a similar one at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana barely 24 hours now.
However, for Ivory Coast, this is the second time Wizkid has breached his contract to perform in Abidjan. Some members of his team, who were already in Abidjan, may be detained until he makes it up to them.
