Popular Ghanaian Reggae artist, Blakk Rasta wants the VGMA to stop nominating him. In a letter to the organizers of the awards scheme, he asked them to desist from nominating him for their awards.
The organizers of the Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse should not nominate him again until they change their ways. Thus, until they change their awards from a plaque-buying scheme to a true merit-based scheme.

Moreover, Blakk Rasta returned all the VGMA award plaques he has won over the years. He noted he has realized that the awards based on money voting are just selling the awards to the highest bidder.
The media personality noted he is not proud of any such awards, because it not meritorious or decent. Therefore, he wishes to disassociate himself from any such awards as he returns the award plaques. Also, he requested his name be expunged from the records of the award schemes.
