On Thursday, 9th March 2023, the leadership of the Toende Students Union(TONSU) paid a courtesy call on the Member of Parliament for the Zebilla constituency, Hon. Cletus Apul Avoka. The engagement with the parliamentarian took place in his office in the Parliament House, Accra.

According to the Toende Students Union president, H.E. Akotia Paschal Asaana, the visit was necessitated by the need to introduce the current leadership of the union to him and to present their action plan to him. Also, the president commended his immense effort and contributions to the union over the years as he asked for his continuous support in the coming years.

HON. CLETUS APUL AVOKA’s message to Toende Students Union

The honorable member of parliament thanked the leadership of TONSU for their kind gesture. He also commended the laudable projects that the union intends to embark on and promised to contribute his quota to see them materialize.

Thus, he is ever ready to aid the union with any assistance it needs. He further gave his input on the Toende Students Union action plan and advised the union’s leadership on how to raise revenue to run their programs effectively.

Moreover, Hon. Cletus Apul Avoka admonished the leadership not to politicize TONSU.
“Most of us were highly interested in the activities of the union until partisan politics came into the scenes and made us lose interest,” he explained.

The delegation led by the Toende Students Union president thanked him for making time out of his busy schedule at the parliament house to meet them.

Meanwhile, other individuals from the Bawku West residing in Zebilla that the leadership had the opportunity to meet included Dr. Desmond Bugbilla, Dr. Benjamin Anyagre, Mr. Nelson Ndebah Ndebugri, and Dr. John Kingsley Krugu.
