Success, they say, is on the other side of your comfort zone. This is akin to Hilda Bassey Effiong popularly known as Hilda Baci’s effort to break the world record of the ‘longest cooking marathon by an individual’ in the Guinness Book of Records.

The Nigerian Chef has successfully broken the record after cooking for over 100 hours. Though she initially planned to cook for just 96 hours, she ended up cooking for 100 hours fired up by the huge support from her fans and renowned personalities. She had a large crowd of teaming supporters outside the kitchen cheering her on.

However, the historic attempt by the Nigerian chef has not yet been recognized by the Guinness World Records. The world records certifying body is yet to officially acknowledge and certify Hilda Baci’s record-breaking cooking marathon.

This is despite the fact that her attempt has come to their notice. Thus, despite taking notice of what Hilda Baci did in her cooking marathon, Hilda Baci Cook-A-Thon. Explaining their silence, they stated that they are yet to review all the evidence of her effort before officially confirming and certifying it.

The initially 96-hour cooking Marathon began on Thursday, May 11, 2023, and ended yesterday after 100 hours of non-stop cooking. Several government officials, celebrities, and politicians graced Hilda Baci’s kitchen to throw their weight behind her. It was streamed live across her social media handles and also aired live on various TV channels.

Meanwhile, the current record holder is Chef Lata Tondon, who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes in Rewa, central India in 2019. Apparently, the Indian chef has just lost the title, as Hilda Baci has broken the record she set years ago.

Mind you, Hilda Baci is set to be declared the new record holder by the Guinness World Records. Until then, Congratulations to Hilda Baci for her new feat chalked. Her indefatigable efforts were an inspiring sight to behold.
