Shatta Wale to perform in exchange for awards again? All the details you need.

Shatta Wale doing performances in exchange for awards is not unusual of him. For the record, this is not an accusation as he has admitted it unequivocally.

It is not new to see him headline an awards event to perform so that we would be given the awards on a silver platter.

In 2019, Shatta Wale was the headline performer of the 3 Music Awards and won 8 awards on the awards night. He even shed tears on the stage, tears of joy, they say. This brought his total award wins to 11, though he won 8 out of his 11 nominations that year.

However, about a year afterward, Shatta Wale himself confessed to performing in exchange for the awards he won. He made these revelations during an altercation with then-CEO of 3 Music Networks, Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu.

According to him, the founder of 3 Music Networks promised to give him 11 awards. He further revealed the awards organizer said he was doing it to spite Sarkodie and Stonebwoy because they were annoying him.

A few years down the line, Shatta Wale is again headlining Ghana Music Awards UK and an intel indicates he is going to be awarded Artiste of the Year amongst other awards.

Now, here’s a quick analogy:
How can Shatta Wale win Artiste of the Year when;

1. he has no current hit song.
2. he has no current album.
3. he was struggling to release an album for over 3 years until he recently aborted it [Gift Of God album].
4. And what have you.

Therefore, if the rumors turn out to be true, wouldn’t that be fishy? Would it not be the case that Shatta Wale has cut himself a deal yet again like in the case of the 3 Music Awards?

I rest my case.
