KNUST makes Post First Degree LLB 3 years at its Law School.

Until this year, Post First Degree LLB at KNUST was 4 years. The Bachelor of Laws program has been a 4-year course since its inception in 2003. This was after KNUST established its Faculty of Law, Ghana’s second law school.

KNUST’s Post First Degree LLB was one of the approved 4-year LLB programs offered at the university. However, after nearly two decades of offering the program, the leading university has now revised the course duration.

Thus, KNUST has now reduced the course duration of Post First Degree LLB from 4 years to 3 years. Starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, students who would be doing the course would now spend just 3 years in school.

Therefore, if you are a First Degree holder looking to offer LLB, KNUST’S Law school is now a better alternative worth considering. Admissions for 2023 would now be treated as a 3-year LLB for First Degree holders. It is still open for applications for all prospective applicants.

Nana Aba demands Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta resigns

Award-winning broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah tells Ghana’s Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta to resign. She gave the Minister her piece of advice via an open letter she shared on social media today.

Going through her touching letter, the General Manager of GHOne TV explained why he must resign. She started by narrating how Ken Ofori-Atta’s abysmal management of Ghana’s economy is adversely costing Ghanaians.

According to her, Ken Ofori-Atta has robbed Ghanaians of the fruit of their labour. His performance for six years has been nothing but an eyesore and it’s high time he saved us the pain of further seeing him wreck our nation.

“Thanks to you, millions of Ghanaians and business owners have been robbed of honest gain for honest work,” she wrote.

Moreover, Nana Aba Anamoah blamed Ghana’s current economic woes on Ken Ofori-Atta’s imprudent borrowing taste and wasteful use of those flammable funds.

The Minister has woefully failed Ghanaians, plunging us into the current economic crisis and the excruciating hardships it brings. That is why the country’s economy is in shambles, which has landed us at the mercy of the IMF.

Furthermore, Nana Aba warned Ken Ofori-Atta not to even think of using Covid-19 or the Ukraine-Russia crisis as an excuse. He is rather the walking catastrophe not any of those.

“You lot sound like a broken record,” she said.

Therefore, Ken Ofori-Atta should do himself and Ghanaians a favour by resigning. Ghanaians have suffered enough from his mismanagement and his insensitive felonious behavior.

Stop insulting Nana Addo, that’s not the solution – Nana Aba defends the president

Due to the excruciating nature of the current hardships in Ghana, most Ghanaians have resulted to insulting the president. Many of these people rain insults on Nana Addo any time he posts on social media.

Checking the comments section of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s posts, you would see the unprintable words being used on him. Obviously, it is their way of vending out their anger over the bad governance of the ruling party.

However, top journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah agrees with them. In recent tweets, she conscientised Ghanaians against the act. According to her, the act is very bad and disrespectful to the president. Besides, that is not the solution to the economic crisis we are currently facing.

She tweeted:

“On a serious note, the insults under the President’s posts on social media are not cool.”

Shatta Wale was complaining about why Sarkodie does not get the international recognition he deserves. He further noted that Sarkodie should have been bigger than Wizkid.

However, Shatta Wale reckoned that Sarkodie would have been bigger than the likes of Wizkid if he made good use of Akon’s opportunity. Sarkodie did not take advantage of the opportunity Akon gave him years ago. Thus, when Akon signed Sarkodie onto his Konvict Music.

According to the dancehall singer, Sarkodie should have capitalized on Akon’s global appeal to grow bigger too. Unfortunately, rather, he failed to grab the opportunity and made it slide. This, Shatta Wale says is the cause of Sarkodie’s woes now.

“If Sarkodie is doing it and I am watching him and he is still not making it. What he is doing, he is alone and he is using his money to do that…especially when Akon mentioned Sarkodie’s name. He should have been there but I could also say that he didn’t even take advantage of it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale spoke so passionately about Sarkodie’s career as though he looks up to him in terms of the music business. He was speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz AtoZ.

Speaking of artists who put a lot into their craft, Shatta Wale said Sarkodie should be bigger than Wizkid. According to him, Sarkodie invests a lot into his music career as an independent artist.

Thus, as an artist not signed to a record label, Sarkodie is doing extremely well for himself. That is why he should have been bigger than Wizkid and the likes of him.

However, Shatta Wale lamented Sarkodie has not gotten the global recognition he deserves. Despite working harder than the likes of Wizkid, they are doing better than him internationally, which he says is very unfortunate.

“You see someone like Sarkodie, he should have been bigger than Wizkid. You see what Sarkodie even did. Sarkodie is putting money into his craft in terms of videos and everything to make it perfectly right but he is still not there,” he complained.

This, Shatta Wake explains is the reason why he does not get worried or fight against people calling him(Shatta) ‘Local Champion’. Meanwhile, he made these statements at a roundtable discussion on Joy FM’s Showbiz AtoZ.

Outspoken broadcaster, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart was arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau(NIB) formerly the Bureau of National Investigations(BNI). According to reports, his arrest is in connection with his recent comments about the Galamsey menace.

Captain Smart said the President, Nana Addo is directly involved in galamsey. That is why he is unable to fight against the galamsey menace despite supposedly putting his Presidency on the line.

Moreover, according to Captain Smart, President Akufo-Addo can never win the fight against galamsey because he is a partner in crime of the perpetrators. He made these wild allegations on his morning show, Maakye on Onua TV.

“I am not going to talk about galamsey after this week. Because President Akufo-Addo is actively involved in galamsey so he can never stop galamsey,” he said.

Press Freedom Under Threat: Captain Smart picked up by NIB.

Onua TV/FM morning show host Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has been picked up by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).

The hard-talking broadcaster was picked up Wednesday, October 19.

It is believed that his arrest is in connection with his comments about the ineffectiveness of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s fight against galamsey so far.

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Information, in a statement signed by Deputy Minister Fatimatu Abubakar stated the government’s unhappiness with the comments and said the government was issuing a complaint to the National Media Commission (NMC) and may explore the option of legal redress.

It is, therefore, strange and sad that the government has chosen the route of intimidation and harassment.

It is unclear where he is being kept as operatives almost run company executives on the road in an attempt to follow the convoy of umarked vehicles that whisked him away from the Kawukudi office of NIB.

MG and all its affiliates will keep mounting pressure on the government to stop paying lip service to the war against galamsey and stop the pollution of rivers and water bodies.

Guru reveals his political ambition “I donated $200,000 to a politician”

Popular Ghanaian rapper, Guru says he wants to become a politician. He hinted at his political ambition whiles speaking in an interview with Candymann on Asaase Radio 100.3.

Moreover, he noted that being an entertainer is not enough, he wants to serve his people better. This is why he is currently studying political science at the University of Ghana. Guru revealed he wants to become a politician to do more for his people.

Speaking of what he has already done for his people, the ‘Samba’ hitmaker said he has been doing donations. He recently donated 200,000 dollars to one politician in his bid to give back to society.

Guru revealed “I have realized being an entertainer isn’t enough. I’m in a position to serve my people to make Ghana a better place. In the past, I have donated 200,000 dollars to one politician to give back to society. I expect those in politics and government to do more of these but if it’s not happening, I’m getting the qualification as a politician to do it better for our people.”

Further speaking, Guru shared his thoughts on the galamsey menace. He said the fight against illegal mining is not for only the government, citizens must play a part in it.

“For example, the issue of galamsey that’s affecting our rivers and other water bodies isn’t the work of the government alone to stop it; as citizens, we must know we destroy nature when we venture into it and refuse to do the right thing,” he noted.
