Abban Stephen elected President in KNUST-Obuasi campus SRC elections, full election results

After weeks of fierce bouts of campaign, it was quite tough to pinpoint who would lead the SRC of the KNUST-Obuasi campus.

The election was held last Monday, and as at the close of polls, it was evident the election was a keenly contested one. The election results were declared moments after voting ended at about 6 p.m.

The first SRC president of the KNUST Obuasi campus, Mr. Ntim-Gyimah Joshua, who was contesting for a second term of office, lost in the election. He lost his seat to his former Vice President, Mr. Abban Stephen.

Thus, the president-Elect, Mr. Abban Stephen, won the election with a total of 302 votes, representing 50.84% of the total vote cast. Ntim-Gyimah Joshua had 282 votes, which represents 47.47 of the total vote cast.

Moreover, the immediate former Financial Secretary, Mr. Andy Antwi Osei, also lost his seat to Mr. Emmanuel Aryeetey.

Another winner in the election was Miss Vanessa Denkyi, who won her unopposedly contested Women’s Commissioner position, with a total of 147 voting YES for her.
