Guru reveals his political ambition “I donated $200,000 to a politician”

Popular Ghanaian rapper, Guru says he wants to become a politician. He hinted at his political ambition whiles speaking in an interview with Candymann on Asaase Radio 100.3.

Moreover, he noted that being an entertainer is not enough, he wants to serve his people better. This is why he is currently studying political science at the University of Ghana. Guru revealed he wants to become a politician to do more for his people.

Speaking of what he has already done for his people, the ‘Samba’ hitmaker said he has been doing donations. He recently donated 200,000 dollars to one politician in his bid to give back to society.

Guru revealed “I have realized being an entertainer isn’t enough. I’m in a position to serve my people to make Ghana a better place. In the past, I have donated 200,000 dollars to one politician to give back to society. I expect those in politics and government to do more of these but if it’s not happening, I’m getting the qualification as a politician to do it better for our people.”

Further speaking, Guru shared his thoughts on the galamsey menace. He said the fight against illegal mining is not for only the government, citizens must play a part in it.

“For example, the issue of galamsey that’s affecting our rivers and other water bodies isn’t the work of the government alone to stop it; as citizens, we must know we destroy nature when we venture into it and refuse to do the right thing,” he noted.
