Nana Ama McBrown breaks silence following GHC 180,000 court fine.
Last Thursday, the Tema High Court fined Nana Ama McBrown, A Plus, and Mr. Logic GH¢ 60, 000 each. Also, Afia Schwarzenegger was sentenced to 10 days in prison. All convicted for contempt of court, Nana Ama McBrown details what transpired at the court.
According to the actress, the court truly found them guilty of contempt. This she admits was due to their discussion on the merit of Chairman Wontumi’s defamation suit against Afia Schwarzenegger. She revealed she was ignorant of the fact a case in court’s merit cannot be discussed as they did.
Moreover, she noted the act of ignorance cost them a 180,000 court fine. She further revealed they also had to pay GH¢ 15,000 to the lawyers of Chairman Wontumi, the accusing council. They paid all the money immediately following the court proceedings because they had the amount on them.
However, Nana Ama McBrown clarified that though Afia Schwarzenegger was jailed for 10 days, she was not also fined. She, therefore, used the opportunity to advise everyone to be wary of discussing cases that are in court.
