The viral tune, ‘Ataa Adwoa’ hitmaker, Bosom P-Yung is now indisputably Ghana’s hottest new music act. The singer rose to fame after his ‘Ataa Adwoa’ video went viral on social media.

However, Bosom P-Yung in a recent interview gave BET award winner, Sarkodie the full credit for the fame he has now. This he says is because it is an evident fact, that he got all the attention he has now thanks to a retweet from Sarkodie. The retweet from the rap god was undoubtedly the catalyst that skyrocketed him to fame.

One of the significant aftermaths of the scuffle at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, between the then archrivals, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy was the ban of the two. The indefinite ban, which constricts the two dancehall acts from participating in the awards scheme has still not been lifted.

However, Stonebwoy, one of the involving parties of the ban had something to say, a year after the ban. He disclosed that lifting the ban would be of greater benefit to the awards scheme than to them, the banned artistes.

The crowning moment for Ghana’s version of Miss Planet International, Miss Yaa Asantewaa was due. The contestants had to battle it out at the grand finale for the ultimate crown.

The Red Carpet

The ceremony began at 6 pm with a red carpet session, which saw an exceptional display of fashion. Rocking the red carpets were the past queens and runner ups, past and current contestants as well as other high profile personalities. Queen Tiwaah (Winner, Miss Kumasi Metro 2018 and 1st runner up of Miss Golden stool 2019), stirred the affairs on the red carpet as the host.

However, the main show started off with a beautiful display of culture from each of the contestants. Afterward was the fashion display, where each contestants had to hit the runway with a glamorous display of fashion.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has opened applications for the 2022/2023 academic year admissions. Vouchers are currently out at various outlets for purchase, including Ghana Post Offices and UEW Campuses’ Cash Office.

The university would be accepting applications into its Direct/Mature/Post-Diploma Full-Time Undergraduate Programmes, Distance Undergraduate & Postgraduate Programmes, Sandwich Undergraduate Programmes, Regular Post Graduate Programmes, and Sandwich Postgraduate Programmes.

VGMA 2020 calls for entries, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy still banned?

Ghana’s biggest and most prestigious music awards scheme, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) calls for entries for its 21st edition. The organizers of the awards scheme, CharterHouse Ghana officially made this public via their social media handles as well as that of the scheme.

They announced that the awards season is due and they have officially opened for entries into the 2020 edition. Moreover, they, therefore, entreated artistes to start filing for nominations.

Also, the theme for this 21st edition of the VGMAs is reported to be, ‘Music First” and “Believe In Music”

The announcement read:

However, as they get ready to roll out the next edition, there has been no update on the incidents that disrupted last year’s edition. Particularly, the ban placed on award-winning dancehall acts, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has not been lifted yet. And there was no official update on that incident involving the two top crooners.
