Sarkodie finally proves he is the biological father of Titi.

0

Before the invention of the DNA test, used to prove the biological parents of children, Africans already had a traditional technique for arriving at that very same result. As I mentioned ‘traditional’, you may have begun associating that to African “juju’. I like how you are thinking, but no, that was not my point. I was referring to the good old ways of using certain physical features of a child to determine his or her, biological parents.

However, in modern-day Ghana despite the introduction of the DNA testing facility, we still witness episodes of Ghanaians speculating issues of some parents not being the biological parents of their ‘wards’. A typical example of this is the alleged similar looks between Shatta Wale’s son Shatta Majesty, and Stonebwoy which stirred up some controversy in the past. I do not just want to go there.

Sista Afia and Freda Rhymz squashed it up on UTV?

Sista Afia and Freda Rhymz after their nearly physical encounter at TV3’s premises, met again yesterday on UTV’s United Showbiz. Though this time around their meeting on the show seemed more of that of a mutual agreement, things nearly went out of hand again due to the exchange of words between the two.

Nana Ama McBrown, the host ushered in the show with the diss tracks of the three parties to the musical beef, Sista Afia, Eno Barony, and Freda Rhymz. However, Eno Barony was not present because, she turned down the interview due to the presence of both Sista Afia and Freda Rhymz. Other panelists on the show were Bulldog and Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo. Who also engaged in a very intense argument over whether or not Sista Afia should have fully understood the rap game before engaging in it.

Davido, Tiwa Savage and Mr. Eazi cover the Billboard Magazine: Africa taking over the world music scene.

Three of Nigeria’s most celebrated music multiple-award winners, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Mr. Eazi covered the latest edition of the Billboard magazine. Earlier this May, they joined Billboard for a video conference about the opportunities of African artists. They delved deep into issues of stereotyping against African acts and how they stay true to their African roots regardless.

The trio of Africa’s biggest stars all highlighted in their speeches how the next musical revolution is brewing in the African continent. The introductory part of the cover story also had a lot to say about them and the current prospects of African music.

The brevity of the introduction of the cover story.

The prospects of African music are now brighter and even more numerous than ever. Though Africa already had superstars like Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, and Fela Kuti, its artists were still siloed in the popular music landscape. However, in recent years, the continent has begun seeing its first generation of truly global superstars. Wizkid’s feature on Drake’s “One Dance”, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Lamar’s Black Panther’ and Beyonce’s ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ also helped sharpen the African dream.

Moreover, Universal, Warner, and Sony have all revamped investments in Africa. However, Nigeria emerged as a precise hub of talents Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Mr. Eazi[with his “Banku Music” a twist of Afrobeats with influence from Ghana] play a major part in this.

That was all for the introduction. However, it is important to note that Ghana was predominantly mentioned second to Nigeria, as a major force to reckon with, apart from South Africa. Davido fusing Ghana’s Highlife into Afrobeats and Afro-pop was well mentioned and Tiwa Savage mentioned Ghana first among the places to visit in Africa. Whilst Mr. Eazi does ‘Banku Music’ originated from Ghana, with its name coined out of Ghana’s popular delicacy, Banku.

Award-winning Ghanaian musical act, Edem took to his twitter handle to reveal what he saw as the biggest plight of Ghanaian artistes. The rapper in a series of tweets stated that all artistes in Ghana, himself inclusive are hungry.

Edem disclosed that the current coronavirus pandemic has blatantly shown how poor the systems and structures in the music industry are. He explained that the current system does not provide any form of support to any artiste. They do their best by working hard on their craft, yet there is no system in place to aid them to make enough money off it, so they are all hungry.

He added that judging from the daunting experience of the aged musicians; it is evident that the future has something similar in store for them. Which he said should never be the case, old artistes must not have to go round soliciting for support.
