Akosua Serwaa married Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosu) after they both met in Germany, where he relocated to after secondary school education. Their relationship, which lasted for over a decade, birthed four (4) children. She supported Daddy Lumba from his humble beginnings, providing emotional, financial, and technical support.

At the dawn of Daddy Lumba’s career, he teamed up with Nana Acheampong to form “Lumba Brothers.” The duo released their debut album, Yeeye Aka Akwantuo Mu, produced by Akosua Serwaa. During her time as Daddy Lumba’s wife, she played a key role in his success as a musician behind the scenes.

After their separation, Akosua Serwaa has maintained a low-profile life since. Daddy Lumba married a woman named Maame Serwaa (Broni) later.

The entirety of Nigeria has been plunged into a state of mourning as Former President Muhammadu Buhari tragically died in London. The former president died at the age of 82. 

His demise was announced on X by his former aide, Bashir Ahmad. In his post he wrote; “The family of the former president has announced the passing of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.

May Allah accept him in Al-Jannah Firdaus. Amin.”

President Buhari served as the democratic leader of Nigeria between 2015 and 2023 after he was voted out of office. However, Muhammadu Buhari served as Nigeria’s President during a military regime before becoming a democratic leader. 

After leaving office, Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeeded him as President of Nigeria. During his time out of office, most of his endeavours were not captured in the spotlight.

Over 2,200 Street Beggars Cleared from Accra in Shocking Ghana Immigration Service Operation

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested over 2,000 undocumented immigrants during a sweep operation at vantage areas in Accra.

The operation took place on Friday, May 16, 2025, with GIS officers storming vantage areas such as Sabon Zongo, Kaneshie, Abossey Okai, and Circle. 

Among those detained were 909 adults (384 men and 525 women) and 1,332 children (577 boys and 755 girls).

According to ACI Michael Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs at GIS, the operation was launched after intelligence revealed that criminal groups were exploiting undocumented migrants, including children, for profit.

“We’ve discovered these activities are tied to human trafficking and transnational crimes,” he told GTV. “We had to step in to protect the public and the victims involved.”

All detainees are undergoing medical and security screening at the GIS National Headquarters in Accra. The service is currently working with relevant embassies to ensure the safe repatriation of undocumented foreigners.

The sweep operation also aims to discourage Ghanaian children from engaging in street begging. Amoako-Atta expressed concern over a growing trend where schoolchildren abandon classrooms for the streets, especially at traffic intersections. “We don’t want our youth trading education for quick money,” he emphasized.

The mass arrests have sparked debate across Ghana. While many citizens have welcomed the move for restoring order and protecting vulnerable children, others are calling for deeper social reforms to address poverty and illegal migration.

Otumfuo Approves June 9 for Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu II’s Final Funeral Rites

The people of Ashanti are in preparation for a gargantuan traditional event. The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially approved Monday, June 9, 2025, for the final funeral and burial rites of Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the late Mamponghene. 

This important announcement follows a formal meeting between Otumfuo and the Mampong Traditional Council, led by Nana Agyakoma Difie II.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, who passed away in April at the age of 86, was a highly respected traditional ruler, lawyer, and economist. He played a major role in both national development and traditional leadership. 

As the second-highest-ranking chief in the Ashanti Kingdom, his passing is a moment of reflection not only for the people of Mampong but for all Ghanaians who value tradition and customs.

The funeral proceedings are scheduled to begin on Friday, June 6, and will continue through Monday, June 9, when the burial will take place. 

The four-day ceremony is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional leaders, political figures, and thousands of mourners all over Ghana and beyond. 

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is also expected to be in attendance to personally honour the late chief.

By the customs and traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom, a temporary ban on all public funerals and processions in the Ashanti Region has been imposed until the burial is complete. 

This measure is meant to show respect to the late Mamponghene and ensure the successful organisation of his royal farewell.

In the viral video, a well-endowed woman believed to be having lunch out at the beach with her partner went rogue for obvious reasons. The woman, out of the blue, started throwing away items on a floating pad she was sitting on on the beach. Fruits of all kinds started flying around, landing in the surrounding water, calling for a bit of a stare.

Her alleged boyfriend seemed to be trying to calm her down, but all his efforts proved futile. In a move to jump off the floating pad onto a boat, she landed flatly in the ocean, trying to swim to safety.

The woman’s outburst brought together a lot of spectators, each wondering what could’ve gone wrong.

The blogger, also confused, redirected the question of ‘what happened’ to his followers, requesting their opinions about what may have caused her rage

Black Sherif wins Artist of the Year, full list of TGMA 2026 Winners

The big night of the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Award(TGMA) just ended with Black Sherif being crowned the Artiste of the Year. As Ghana’s biggest music night, it awarded the crème de la crème of the Ghanaian music industry. Its ‘touch of glitter’ themed red carpet was hosted by Regina Van-Helvert and Godwin Namboh, featuring an unforgettable array of fashion statements.

The main awards event hosted by Naa Ashorkor and Giovani Caleb saw performances from Kofi Kinaata, Piesie Esther, Samini, Diana Hamilton, Lasmid, Medikal, Black Sherif, and R2Bees, among others. It also featured a tribute performance for the country’s lost music heroes by Okyeame Kwame, Ofori Amponsah, Kwabene Kwabena, and Ras Kuuku with Andy Dosty on the Turntables.

TGMA 2026 Award winners

The winner of the biggest award of the night, Black Sherif, was also the biggest winner of the night, winning a total of 5 awards. Thus, he won the HipHop Song of the Year, Best Afropop Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year with his Iron Boy album, and the ultimate, TGMA 2026 Artist of the Year.

Moreover, Black Sherif makes history as the youngest to win the TGMA Artist of the Year twice, after winning it in 2023 and this year. He now joins the coveted list of two-time TGMA Artist of the Year winners, which includes Sarkodie(2010 and 2012) and Stonebwoy (2015 and 2024). Black Sherif also almost beat Sarkodie’s shortest interval of winning record of 2 years, falling slightly behind him with a 3-year interval.
