Captain Smart apologizes to Juliet Bawuah and co for calling them sluts who chopped Black Stars in Qatar 2022.
In his reaction to Ghana Black Stars’ early exit from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Captain Smart called female sports presenters sluts. They are sluts for chopping the BlackStar players during the tournament, he insinuated.
He, therefore, called on the GFA to ban all female sports presenters from joining the BlackStars at tournaments.
Captain Smart’s wild allegations did sit well with female sports journalists and journalists in general. The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) issued a statement, calling for an unqualified apology from him.
In a strongly worded pressor, the GJA condemned Captain Smart’s utterances, stating it is demeaning to female journalists in general.
However, the host of Maakye on Onua FM speaking on the issue said he chose his words carefully. That is why he did not emphatically mention ‘TV Female Sports Presenters.’
“I chose my words right, so I didn’t say ‘TV Female Sports Presenters’. I didn’t say that” Captain Smart insisted.
Regardless of his unremorseful posture, he apologized for his mean utterances.
“because of the respect I have for women. . .if you think you are hurt [as] a female sports presenter, I’m sorry”, he said.
