The Ghana Entertainment Industry has received a heartbreaking blow following the sudden demise of veteran highlife musician Dada Kwaku Duah (KD). News about his sudden death on Friday, May 16, 2025, has sent shockwaves across the creative industry and Ghana as a whole.
Dada KD, the ever-vibrant 56-year-old legendary musician, showed no visible signs of illness; hence, his death has plunged everyone into a state of shock.
Reports by close associates of the late musician revealed that Dada KD fell ill on the morning of May 16, 2025. His manager reportedly found him at his residence unconscious and rushed him to the Gbawe SDA Hospital in Accra, where he was pronounced dead a few hours after admission.
Popular Ghanaian media personality, Nana Romeo, also a close associate of Nana KD, recounted his last moments with Dada KD as they both visited the UK Embassy in Accra with him.
He revealed that they both visited the UK Embassy to secure a visa for the late musician, as he was scheduled to perform at the Hip-Life and Hi-Life Legends in London concert in the UK.
Nana Romeo recounted how excited Dada KD had been about the event as they planned to revisit the embassy the following day, when he tragically passed away.
Dada KD has etched an indelible mark in the Ghana Music Industry with his countless hit songs. The “Somu Gye” hitmaker won the “Best Male Vocal Artist” award at the Ghana Music Awards UK back in 2024.
Dada KD’s name will be forever remembered in Ghana for his massive achievements in the music industry. As the nation mourns the demise of the musical messiah, his songs will continue to echo through generations, reminding us of his legendary achievements.
