Ghana’s heartthrob, John Dumelo contested in this year’s general elections for the parliamentary seat of Ayawaso West Wuagon.
Unfortunately, he could not win the seat as many had expected, but amassed a very impressive number of votes. Apart from the fact that John Dumelo, who stood for NDC was a first-time contender, the parliamentary seat was also predominantly won by the NPP.

However, John Dumelo against all odds lost the seat in a very close margin with the winner. Thus, despite it being a stronghold of the winner’s party, he still won an unprecedented amount of votes.
John Dumelo’s wife applauding her husband’s performance in the election, had this to say:
