Lauren Passarelli arranged and played every musical instrument except the bass guitar in this song in honour of her music idol, George Harrison. Nonetheless, her version of the legend’s ‘Be Here Now,’ however, features Kate Chadbourne on the piano and Mike Bishop on the bass.
The songstress was just 13 when George released the song on his ‘Living in the Material World’ album in 1973. She, therefore, knew her cover of the song had to be a special tribute to him. Apart from pouring her heart out in her vocal delivery, Lauren added the XO drum groove, a Swarmandal 30-string Indian harp, a tanpura sound, a chime, a MIDI guitar driven strings and a cello.
Moreover, since the alternative rock artist idolises George Harrison, she again went all out to do the music arrangement, mixing and mastering the song. Having listened to the legendary singer from a very young age, he now has a very special place in her heart. He and The Beatles inspired her to become a musician.
Meanwhile, Lauren Passarelli‘s cover of Be Here Now was released on June 16th, 2025. The song is currently available on all digital music streaming platforms. The deeply moving tune just got better with the modern touch added in this version.
