A devastating fire has swept through the Madina Redco Flats “Jamaica”, causing significant damage to properties. The fire ravaged the central part of Redco flats in the late hours of Friday, April 18, 2025.
National Fire Service personnel were called to the scene to help put out the fire. The fire service personnel made it to the scene as efforts were made to combat the raging fire.
This is not the first time an outbreak of fire has occurred in the area; there was a similar case barely a year ago, which destroyed countless settlements, displacing a lot of people.
Redco Flats “Jamaica” is a major dwelling hub for sex workers, hardened drug addicts, and criminals. The area has been changed from a serene residential area into a slum where all kinds of social vices thrive.
Due to the sheer number of wooden structures packed in the place, a small fire can spread at a faster pace, destroying a lot of properties.
The fire service personnel have not yet been able to discover the cause of the fire outbreak.
