One may wonder how I came across this new talent. Well, let’s just say he is the new kid on the block, an Afrobeats talent, and everything urban African music. I am talking about NYDarko, formerly known as NYD in music circles.
The budding rap act is currently out with a single dubbed ‘Real Dudes,” which was released earlier this year, on January 5th. The song chronicles the start of his music career and what kind of journey it has been for him ever since it took off.
Going back to the early days of his musical dream, it talks of his self-discovery, struggles of pursuing his dream, and the good people who lent a helping hand. The journey could not have been possible or easy without their immense support.
Moreover, further interrogating NYDarko on his story, he revealed he always had passion for music but only began putting out music this year. He started writing songs and fortunately came across a friend, who later came to know was also a beatboxer.
The musical journey continued with him learning more about it and eventually getting inspired by Omar Sterling and Darkovibes. This strengthened his love for rap, and set the tone for his first song release in 2024, with the support of his friends.
