Sarkodie failed to make good use of his opportunity with Akon – Shatta Wale
Shatta Wale was complaining about why Sarkodie does not get the international recognition he deserves. He further noted that Sarkodie should have been bigger than Wizkid.
However, Shatta Wale reckoned that Sarkodie would have been bigger than the likes of Wizkid if he made good use of Akon’s opportunity. Sarkodie did not take advantage of the opportunity Akon gave him years ago. Thus, when Akon signed Sarkodie onto his Konvict Music.
According to the dancehall singer, Sarkodie should have capitalized on Akon’s global appeal to grow bigger too. Unfortunately, rather, he failed to grab the opportunity and made it slide. This, Shatta Wale says is the cause of Sarkodie’s woes now.
“If Sarkodie is doing it and I am watching him and he is still not making it. What he is doing, he is alone and he is using his money to do that…especially when Akon mentioned Sarkodie’s name. He should have been there but I could also say that he didn’t even take advantage of it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale spoke so passionately about Sarkodie’s career as though he looks up to him in terms of the music business. He was speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz AtoZ.
