Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known by his stage name as “Shatta Wale,” landed in Ghana at the Kotoka International Airport in the early hours of Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The Dancehall music artist was invited to perform in Jamaica at the Freedom Street Concert by Vybz Kartel, The King of Dancehall. Shatta Wale flew out of Ghana in a private aircraft on 26th December 2024 after a brief performance at Medikal’s ‘Beyond Kontrol Concert’, at Ghud Park located within the enclave of Accra Mall.
Shatta Wale delivered an outstanding performance at the “Freedom Street Concert” which came on the last day of 2024, 31st December. The show featured several amazing performances from other music acts such as; Vybz Kartel, Spice, Busta Rhymes, Tommylee Spartan and others.
This event has further facilitated the collaboration between Shatta Wale and Vybz Kartel which is good news for the entire Ghanaian populace as it will help project our music to the international audience.
However, some netizens have registered their displeasure regarding the performance of Shatta Wale at the ‘Freedom Street Concert’ as opposed to similar events he has performed at in the past.
Upon his arrival, the acclaimed King of African Dancehall was warmly welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport. Fans trooped in as they hailed and praised him for representing Ghana on such an international stage.
