Uncover All The Hidden Secrets Regarding Nana Agradaa’s Arrest And Sentence To 15 Years Imprisonment

Ghana’s widely known priestess turned evangelist, Mama Pat, also known formerly as Nana Agradaa, is most likely being talked about by every media house and individual in the country. Almost everyone has had this thought before: How did a widely known priestess suddenly give up on her powerful gods who were capable of multiplying money tenfold? Nana Agradaa, as she was mostly called during her fetish days, was widely known for possessing ‘money-doubling’ gods, which she referred to as “sika gari.”

For years, Nana Agradaa was daring enough to display her fetish prowess on live television and all across social media. Several people got avarice, intrigued by the whole ‘money doubling’ scheme, thinking it was a shortcut out of their financial struggles. Little did they know that their daring decision would become their most dreadful outcome.

Now, here is where the story gets interesting. Evangelist Mama Pat willingly gave up her powerful gods, claiming to have transitioned into Christianity. This sudden transformation was mind-blowing, with so many unanswered questions stuck in the heads of the masses awaiting answers.

As the trend goes, Ghanaians tend to accept anything with time. Mama Pat, after transitioning into Christianity, went ahead to establish her church, which she named “Heaven Way Champion International Ministry.”

Now here is the plot twist: why was Evangelist Mama Pat prosecuted out of the blue? Why was she sentenced to 15 years in prison? What will happen to her church, as well as her sugar boy?

I know there are other questions you want answers to, I’ll urge you to exercise a bit of patience as I reveal to you all the hidden secrets about the whole story of Nana Agradaa. There are more shocking revelations you’ll get to know if you keep on reading.

How did Nana Agradaa rise to fame?

Nana Agradaa, as she was called during her fetish days, quickly gained widespread recognition across Ghana and beyond after the promotion of her ‘money multiplying’ ritual was broadcast across radio and television. She referred to this ritual as “Sika Gari,” which quickly intrigued so many young boys and girls.

The “Sika Gari” ritual mostly featured dramatic rituals and bundles of cash, luring innocent individuals into believing the authenticity of the ritual. Using her TV stations, Thunder Tv and Ice 1 TV, as a medium of broadcasting, she was able to reach a lot of audiences nationwide. Several victims complained about losing between GHS 1,000 and GHS 2,000 as a result of engaging in this money-doubling ritual with high hopes that they’ll make ten times their initial amount presented to Nana Agradaa.

Nana Agradaa reportedly recruited Kumawood movie star Big Akwes to promote her “Sika Gari” ritual. Given the massive influence of the Kumawood actor, many believed in the credibility of the ritual after he appeared alongside the priestess to promote the ritual.

Why was Nana Agradaa prosecuted?

Nana Agradaa has been involved in several legal battles, some of which she claimed victory in and some of which she suffered defeats in. In 2021, Nana Agradaa was pressed with charges over the unlicensed operation of her TV station. She was fined about GHS 36,000 for the charges levelled against her.

Fast forward to 2022, she was arrested and remanded for charlatanic advertisement and false pretence. Police received several complaints from victims lamenting how they lost about GHS 2,000 to GHS 4,000 each after attending an all-night service where they were promised humongous sums of money. The victims were, however, locked up in different rooms after their money was collected for the purpose of the money-doubling ritual. She repeatedly denied charges against her and managed to secure a GHS 50,000 bail.

On July 3, 2025, justice was finally served after an Accra circuit court sentenced Nana Agradaa to a 15-year imprisonment with hard labour. She was found guilty of multiple counts of fraudulent advertisement and fraud.

What will happen after Nana Agradaa’s sentencing?

Nana Agradaa has begun serving jail time at the Nsawam prison, her home for the next 15 years. However, her lawyers have cited a possible appeal to the court’s ruling, stating that Nana Agradaa is remorseful and has cooperated diligently during her prosecution process.

If an appeal does not work out, Nana Agradaa will require a presidential pardon to regain her freedom and render her free from all charges against her. Given the severity of her crime and the immense social contempt, this is most likely not achievable, as Ghana’s clemency power is rarely exercised.

Angel Asiamah, husband to Nana Agradaa, expressed his undying support for his wife during her incarceration. He stated that even though there was nothing he could do to support her physically, he was going to offer spiritual support to his wife.

However, social media users tagged June 3 as a “day of freedom” for Angel Asiamah. He wouldn’t face any harassment for the next 15 years and would most likely take over his wife’s assets. Many urged him to start a new life, abandoning his wife, who is now confined in a 500 cubic foot cell.

Wrapping up, I believe the story of Nana Agradaa should serve as a deterrent to other fake prophets and fetish people who engage in fraudulent activities, as they may face a similar ordeal or even worse. The conviction of Nana Agradaa also serves as a wake-up call to authorities to enforce stringent laws to check broadcast licensing, as well as rampant fraudulent activities ongoing across every corner of the country.
