Black Sherif Makes History with First BET Award Nomination following his BET Hip Hop Awards nods.
Ghanaian music sensation, Black Sherif, has once again made waves in the international music scene, securing his first nomination at the prestigious BET Awards. The ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ hitmaker is up for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards.
Black Sherif will be going up against a talented pool of artists, including South Africa’s Tyla, fellow Nigerians Rema and Ayra Starr, Brazil’s Any Gabrielly and MC Luanna, UK-based artists Basky and Ezra Collective, Eswatini’s Uncle Waffles, and France’s Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM.
This nomination is another conspicuous indication of Black Sherif’s fast-growing global dominance, following his impressive win at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2023 for Best International Flow after his consecutive nominations in 2022 and 2023.
Moreover, Black Sherif’s second studio album, Iron Boy, is doing equally tremendously well following its release last month. The sophomore album is currently spending three weeks on the Billboard World Albums Chart and topping other charts worldwide.
The 2025 BET Awards promise to be an exciting celebration of Black excellence in music, entertainment, and beyond. Black Sherif’s nomination has sent shockwaves of excitement through the Ghanaian music scene, with fans eagerly awaiting the outcome and possibly a Grammy nomination.
