Why Shatta Wale blasted Stonebwoy and President Akufo-Addo’s daughter over Accra Sports Stadium venue booking.
The rivalry between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has been latent in recent years. Following their scuffle, arrest, and ban at the VGMA and their subsequent reunion, they have ostensibly relegated their differences to embrace peace.
This was not until recently, that the two began throwing subliminal jabs at each other at every slide chance they get. The intensity of the spite brewing in them kept growing stronger and worsened when they both announced their December shows to be at the Accra Sports Stadium around similar dates.
Shatta Wale and Medikal announced their Freedom Wave Concert first, to live up to their annual ritual of holding the event but this time around made it a weeklong festival. It is scheduled to start from 20th December to 25th December at the Accra Sports Stadium.
On the other hand, Stonebwoy announced his Bhim Concert, the 5th Dimension Homecoming Edition not too long afterward. His is also slated for the 22nd December at the Accra Sports Stadium too. This year’s edition is an amalgamation of Stonebwoy’s major annual musical concerts, the Bhim Concert and the Ashaiman To The World Concert.
Meanwhile, there were no open agitations following the pronouncements from the two award-winning dancehall crooners. Little did we know the prevailing peace was just the calm before the storm.
Shatta Wale and his team were peeved by the turn of events but chose to stay mute about it. This was short-lived as Shatta Wale could not take it any longer due to subsequent happenings. The authorities in charge of bookings at the Accra Sports Stadium turned down his booking request and that was the last straw for him.
Fiercely infuriated by this, Shatta Wale took to his Facebook Live to rant about it. He bemoaned the stadium’s officials told him they could not accept his booking due to Stonebwoy’s show. He further claimed the decision was orchestrated by Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s daughter, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo. Who he claims is in bed with Stonebwoy to sabotage this year’s Freedom Wave Concert.
Moreover, according to the disgruntled dancehall singer, the President’s daughter placed a call to the stadium’s authorities, which led to the said decision. This broke the camel’s back for him as he blasted her together with Stonebwoy for what he calls a blatant attempt to call off he and Medikal’s coveted stadium concert.
Nonetheless, though Stonebwoy is yet to respond to any of the allegations leveled against him and Nana Addo’s Daughter, we have some intel. The intel from the Accra Sports Stadium authorities suggests that, unlike Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale did not officially book the venue before he announced it.
So we now ask, if it is true Shatta Wale had not yet booked the venue for his show, does he still have a good argument to dispute his booking’s rejection?
