Over the past few weeks, there has been a musical feud among Ghana’s female musicians. The trio Sista Afia, Eno Barony, and Freda Rhymz are the key parties to this musical beef.
The battle of supremacy, which is seemingly the first of its kind among female acts in Ghana, started with a track from Sista Afia. Sista Afia, who is known to be a singer, rather rapped in the said song dubbed WTF. She was alleged to have taken swipes at her fellow female acts in the song. Following those shots, Freda Rhymz and Eno Barony being rappers had to react.
Earlier this week, there was a video that caught the attention of many Ghanaians. The video was a snippet from a Nigerian entertainment show, eSplash aired on TV C.
According to the video, their discussion was about Sarkodie’s historic win at the 2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards. The panel comprising of a lady and a guy hosted by a lady, had a lot to say about Sarkodie.
The challenges embattled by the government’s healthcare accessibility and affordability program, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) are numerous. Though purposely meant to encourage the poor and vulnerable to seek appropriate health without financial constraints, many people within the above-mentioned bracket are still unable to have access to the scheme. A major part of whom being abjectly impoverished.
Moreover, most of these people who do not have the means to access basic healthcare, face this problem due to their inability to afford the registration fees and the yearly premium.
Following the release of his Sugar album last year, 3 Music Awards 2020 male vocalist of the year, Kidi is out with an EP, Blue.
Kidi’s previous album, Sugar which came alongside a Movie: Sugar and Sugar the movie did so well for him. The same album also earned him several nominations at the VGMA including the enviable, Album of the year. Moreover, his male vocalist of the year award at the 3 Music Awards 2020 could also be largely attributed to that album.
Meanwhile, this year Kidi again had an excellent kick-start with the release of his Enjoyment track. The song is now arguably one of the biggest songs in Ghana now.
Shatta Wale’s silence on this issue was quite unusual, though expected. It was far from the usual Shatta Wale, who barks at the smallest of flies that crosses his path. However, his silence was also expected because Stonebwoy and he are now back to being good friends.
Moreover, yesterday you would have come across Stonebwoy’s controversial tweet about Shatta Movement (SM). His tweet was accused of insinuating Shatta Wale’s SM fans are thieves.
‘Nominate’ hitmaker, Stonebwoy in a recent tweet has seemingly thrown a subtle jab at his arch-rival cum good friend, Shatta Wale. In a rather odd tweet by Stonebwoy, his comment indirectly suggested that, Shatta Movement (SM) fans are thieves.
Moreover, Stonebwoy made that comment under a post that showed a thief being manhandled. The man weeping in great pain was according to the post, was a thief caught at Teshie. He was being made to carry very heavy metals as punishment for committing the crime.
The third edition of the highly prestigious music awards scheme, 3 Music Awards happened at the Fantasy Studios, Accra. First in history for an awards event to be held in Ghana with no live audience, the awards event came off as a virtual event.
The awards night was dubbed the Stay At Home Edition, and it was such an incredible experience watching from home. Naa Ashorkor and Jay Foley were the hosts. The night saw performances from some of Ghana’s top musical acts. Kidi opened the show with a sweet performance with the sensational Cina Soul.
Internationally acclaimed Ghanaian songstress, Becca has officially released a new song, ‘Overcome’. Though her last single, ‘No One’ sparked some controversy, Becca presents this tune purposely to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the singer premiered the new song just today on BET UK after an Instagram live chat with Hemah K on BET Breaks Home Sessions.
Speaking about the song, Becca stated that it is geared towards supporting the Covid-19 Trust Fund of Ghana. And all proceeds from the song will be donated into the fund.

Furthermore, Becca disclosed that ‘Overcome’ is an inspirational piece in honor of all the front liners in the Covid-19 fight. Also, ‘Overcome’ inspires us that no matter what we may be going through during this pandemic, we shall overcome.

The third edition of the annual 3 Music Awards will be coming off this Saturday, May 2 despite the coronavirus pandemic. This comes right after the ban on social gathering was extended for two more weeks. The organizers still want to push through with the event. However, they will be holding it as a virtual event.
Dubbed Live Virtual Music Awards, the awards will take place at the premises of Joy Prime with a very limited number of people excluding any audience. It will broadcast live on Joy Prime and the official social media handles of the scheme, Facebook and Instagram on 3MUSIC and 3MUSICAWARDS respectively.
