I won VGMA Artist of the Year in 2019, but they ‘stole’ it from me – Stonebwoy
Ghanaian Dancehall BET Award winner, Stonebwoy says he won the VGMA Artist of The Year in 2019. The iconic singer made this statement earlier today on TV3 revealing he knows he won the 2019 VGMA’s Artist of the Year award.
Thus, Stonebwoy believes he won the Artist of the Year in 2019 although the award winner was not announced. He said even though the organizers of the VGMA chose not to declare him the winner on the night, he strongly believes he won it fair and square.
In view of this, Stonebwoy expressed interest in receiving the award now since the VGMA has now lifted the ban on him. The ban robbed him of the awards he won on the VGMA 2019 awards night as well as the unannounced Artist of the Year award he believes he won.
Stonebwoy advises VGMA to lift the ban on he and Shatta Wale, see his reasons.
Moreover, if this assertion makes any headway and the VGMA decides to travel back in time to declare him the winner, Stonebwoy would have won the VGMA Artist of The Year two times. With this, he would match Sarkodie’s unbroken record of being the only artist to have won the award twice.
Meanwhile, the ‘Therapy’ hitmaker lost all the awards he won at the 2019 VGMA after a scuffle ensued between him and Shatta Wale. The near brawl saw Stonebwoy removing a gun on the VGMA stage after Shatta Wale and his ‘gang’ were seen allegedly going to attack him.
The two were reported to the police for prosecution and were subsequently banned from the awards scheme. The former was accused of brandishing a gun whiles the latter was accused of causing the incident and public disturbance.
