Odorgono Senior High Students Protest On The Anyaa-Awoshie HIghway

In a video sighted online by ichris.com on Monday, 24th February 24, 2025, hundreds of students from Odorgono Senior High located along the Anyaa-Awosie road in the Greater Region were spotted in a heated demonstration. The motive of the demonstration is to make their voices heard about the increased number of casualties involving students of the school as a result of road accidents on the stretch.

They revealed that the lack of footbridges around the school enclave as well as faulty traffic lights along the road are the major causes of these road accidents.

The school is situated just a few meters from the Anyaa-Awoshie highway, therefore teachers and students find it hard to commute to the school every day given the nature of that stretch. These students put their lives at risk every day commuting to the school.

Therefore the student populace took it upon themselves to create awareness about the the challenges they are facing and what should be done to curtail the problem.

The construction of footbridges across the road leading to the school will ensure the safety of all road users, including the students as well as motorists. The faulty traffic lights must also be repaired to guarantee the safety of pedestrians and drivers.

With all this being done, the safety of all road users is guaranteed and will help reduce the number of casualties due to road accidents on the stretch.
