Immediate past Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta has received a stern warning from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), which threatens to re-declare him wanted if he fails to present himself for questioning on 2nd June.
Mr. Ofori Atta was initially declared wanted on February 12 after failing to honour an invitation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for questioning about several cases he was indicated as a suspect in during his time in office.
The OSP later expunged his name from its list of wanted suspects following his assurance that he would present himself for questioning after seeking medical treatment abroad.
In response to actions by the OSP, Mr. Ofori Atta filed a lawsuit against the agency, demanding a perpetual injunction to prevent the OSP from violating his fundamental human rights in the future.
He claimed that his declaration as a fugitive has tarnished his reputation and infringed on his human rights hence filing a lawsuit against the OSP.
The OSP stated that if Mr. Ofori Atta fails to be present for questioning on 2nd June 2025 his name shall be re-entered on the OSP’s list of wanted persons and declaring him as a fugitive from justice.
The OSP concluded its official statement by reassuring the public about its commitment to enforcing the laws of the country and ensuring accountability.
