An unidentified young man has landed himself in serious trouble after he was caught by soldiers easing himself somewhere around the Achimota Forest Reserve in Accra.
The young man was coincidentally caught in the act near a signboard that had several inscriptions such as “No Entry Without Permit,” No Defecation,” and “No Dumping Of Refuse.” However, paying no heed to the warnings inscribed on the signboard, he went ahead to ease himself in the restricted area.
The soldiers, upon apprehending him, asked him to read the inscriptions audibly to everyone’s hearing. As the man read, he was being lashed, forcing him to read the whole information on the signboard.
In the crowded city of Accra, the Achimota Forest Reserve remains one of the few untouched ecological places left. Therefore, strict enforcement of sanitation laws will help to preserve the nearly extinct natural habitats in Accra.
This showdown was meant to serve as a deterrent to individuals who do not adhere to sanitation laws, as a result depleting the original state of the environment.
