Self-acclaimed fetish priest turned evangelist Nana Agradaa has been slapped with a GHS 6,000 fine by the Tema High Court as a defamation lawsuit by gospel sensation Empress Gifty is still in session.
Empress Gifty filed a lawsuit against Evangelist Mama Pat after the self-proclaimed evangelist made defamatory statements about the gospel artist. Mama Pat, in her utterances, stated that the gospel sensation, Empress Gifty, engaged in extra-marital affairs as a means of funding her lavish lifestyle.
Empress Gifty reportedly filed a GHS 20 million lawsuit against Mama Pat for defamation. She later revealed that the actions of the self-acclaimed evangelist had caused a dent in her reputation, classifying it as “irreparable damage.”
The Tema High Court ruled in favour of the singer, dismissing Mama Pat’s motion to throw out the case. Mama Pat not only suffered a defeat in the lawsuit but was also issued a fine of GHS 6,000 as legal costs.
With the defamation lawsuit still in the hearing process at the Tema High Court, Agradaa is expected to provide valid answers to her claims.
