Iconic American movie star, Tyler Perry has gotten his deserving share of the Hollywood Walk of Fame honors. Tyler Perry got his star on Thursday, 1st October, 2019 at a ceremony meant to mark this major achievement. His ceremony was graced by a host of stars including Idris Elba, Kerry Washington and Crystal Fox whom he has previously directed.
The blissful event also had a touching moment, when Tyler Perry had to deliver his speech. He dedicated the honor to the underdogs, stating that, this major feat of his should be inspiration to those who’s dreams are encountering the toughest adversities, thus those “whose dreams may be on life support”. Other speeches were also read by Idris Elba, Kerry Washington and Crystal Fox which were all, including Tyler’s so powerful.

Meanwhile, the actor further stated in his speech:
“I want you to walk past this star in particular and know that I’ve been there,” he said. “I’ve been struggling, I’ve been out, broke, homeless. I’ve been through all of those things, but there was a perseverance, a tremendous faith in God, and this hope that allowed me to keep going.”
“So, if you’re looking at all of these stars,” he added. “I’m sure everybody has a story here who’s been immortalized here, but this one in particular is for the underdogs. This one in particular is for the ones who want to do it their way. This one in particular is for those who want to bring as many people through the door with them as they can.” He added.
