Martin Ohemeng Gyekye assumes office as SRC President with his executives.
The swearing-in and handover ceremony of the KNUST Obuasi SRC took place on 24th September, 2022. The constitutional prerequisite afforded the newly elected executives the perquisite to be officially inaugurated into office.
The all-important precedent was coupled with the SRC’s Excellence Awards and Dinner night. During the event, the SRC’s incoming executives were sworn into office by the new Judicial Committee Chairperson, His Lordship Pascal Akotia.
The executives were the then SRC President-elect, Mr. Martin Ohemeng Gyekye; Financial Secretary-elect, Mr. Manaf Tamiebu Abubakar; the General Secretary-elect, Miss Jessica Behome; and the Women’s Commissioner-elect, Miss Christiana Acheampong.
Moreover, following their swearing-in, the President then swore his Vice, Mr. Fosu Emmanuel into office as prescribed by the Constitution. The rite was a remarkable sight to behold, history in the making.
Pascal Akotia appointed Judicial Chairperson of KNUST Obuasi SRC
Meanwhile, prior to these, the then President-elect, Mr. Martin Ohemeng Gyekye appointed Mr. Pascal Akotia as the Judiciary Committee Chairperson. In line with the same constitutional provisions, the Judicial Committee Chairperson designate, Pascal Akotia was the first to be sworn into office.
