The just-ended 67th Grammy Awards, held at Crypto.Com in Los Angeles, saw several world-class artists perform and receive awards.
Our very own “Queen of Melody” was not exempted from the drill. I guess you’re wondering who I am referring to as the “Queen of Melody”. Well, try guessing by typing your answer in the comments section under this post.
Talking of “Queen of Melody,” I believe we cannot deny Tems of that title. The Nigerian songstress has claimed the top-dog seat as one of the best female singers in Nigeria and Africa as a whole continent can boast of.
Tems claimed victory at the 2025 Grammy Awards as she was crowned “Best African Music Performance” for her international hit song “Love Me Jeje.” She was nominated alongside other top musicians like Yemi Alade, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, but that didn’t deter Tems from achieving greatness.
Tems was filled with joy and was almost out of breath as she was called out to the stage at the grand arena, surrounded by thousands of audience.
In her speech, after receiving her award, she stated, “Wow, dear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and bringing this team, and tomorrow is my mum’s birthday and this is her first Grammy.
“I just want to thank you, Mum,” she said, gesturing towards her, “because she has done a lot for me and my brother.”
This is not the first time Tems has won a Grammy; she is now a record-holder as the first Nigerian artist to have two (2) Grammy awards to her name.
Tems has amassed a lot of followers across the globe, a testament to her resilience and dedication to perfecting her craft.
