Camidoh beats Black Sherif, gets BET Awards nomination for Ghana.

The nominations list for the 2023 Black Entertainment Television(BET) Awards was released today. The highly anticipated list of nominations was announced earlier today Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Ghana’s young music icon, Camidoh was nominated in the BET Awards Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category. He rose the flag of Ghana high as the only Ghanaian artist nominated in the awards this year.

Moreover, Camidoh beat the likes of other Ghanaian new acts Black Sherif, Gyakie and Lasmid who equally gained huge international prominence in the year under review. The fact that Black Sherif was nominated in the Best International Flow category in BET Hip hop Awards 2022 notwithstanding.

The ‘Sugarcane’ hitmaker joins Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, MzVee, and Kwesi Arthur amongst others on the coveted list of Ghana’s BET Awards nominated Acts.

However, Camidoh faces stiff competition from Asake (NIGERIA), Flo (UK), Libianca (CAMEROON), Maureen(FRANCE), MC Ryan SP(BRAZIL), Pabi Cooper (SOUTH AFRICA), Raye (UK), and Werenoi (FRANCE).

Meanwhile, thematically, the 2023 BET Awards nominees “reflect abundant creative expression and Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports.”
