Ghana’s only Dancehall BET Award-winner, Stonebwoy seems to never cease to set historic records in his music journey. Apart from becoming the first dancehall act in Africa to win a BET, he recently became the first artiste in Ghana to receive two plaques from Billboard.
The dancehall crooner got two plaques from Billboard for his features on Collie Buddz’s “Hybrid Album” and another plaque for his feature on Sizzla Kalonji’s “I’m Yours” album. Amazingly for Stonebwoy, the two albums he featured on, Hybrid and I’m Yours ranked #1 and #2 respectively on Billboard charts, for which reason he was awarded those plaques to certify his efforts on the chart-topping music projects on Billboard.

Stonebwoy receives a Grammy Certificate
Moreover, just when we thought he was done, he has again received a certificate from the world’s biggest music awards scheme, GRAMMY. This new record is historic because it makes Stonebwoy the only artiste in Ghana to receive a certificate from the most prestigious music awards scheme. Which invariably also makes Stonebwoy the only musician in Ghana to receive 3 certificates[plaques] from Grammy and Billboard, 1 and 2 respectively.

The record-setting certificate from The Recording Academy was awarded to Stonebwoy for his feature on Morgan Heritage’s Grammy-nominated album, Avrakedabra. The Grammy certificate recognises Stonebwoy’s impeccable participation as a featured artist on ‘Reggae Night’, a bonus track on the Avrakedabra album, which was nominated in the Best Reggae Album category at the 60th Grammy Awards for 2017.
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy upon receiving the enviable certificate, took to his social media handles to express his excitement, revealing that he is going to frame it for his wall.
