Tottenham-born music goddess, Adele again as recent reports indicates she is going out with rapper Skepta. This follows news months ago about her divorce with her estranged husband, Simon Konecki, which took place in April this year.

Adina and Skepta were spotted a number of times happy on a sting of dates and they seem to have been in frequent contact too. Moreover, The Sun reported that the two musicians who happen to both hail from Tottenham, at the Crystal Maze Experience in London had a birthday party. Thus, the ‘hello’ hit maker actually joined Skepta to celebrate his 37th birthday, which was barely two weeks to now.

Souces reveal:

Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there’s definitely a special connection.

‘They’re spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day.’

Acting doesn’t pay, I barely make GHC 5,000 a year – Mikki Osei Berko

0

This veteran Ghanaian actor recently sent a message across to government, threatening to go naked to protest if the incumbent government does not take a step to salvage our dying movie industry, thus by banning foreign content on our television screens. However, in his most recent interview he, Mikki Osei Berko has made yet another interesting revelation, stating that acting in Ghana does not pay at all.

Disclosing this in an interview on Peace FM, the actor cum television broadcaster revealed he makes barely GHC 5,000 a year staring in movies. He again added that, the fact that the industry does not pay enough to make living out of it, explains why most of our actors depend on public support to cater for their needs. Moreover, that, most of them if not for ambassadorial deals and other endeavors would have been in so much financial constraints.

“I make less than 5,000 cedis a year from acting in movies and dramas. But for any ambassadorial deals and other businesses how would I have survived” Mikki disclosed in the interview.

I paid for most of my videos but Stonebwoy was never proud of me – Kelvyn Boy

0

Following up on one the biggest story of the just ended week, we would recall an official statement of Kelvyn Boy’s release from the Burniton music Group. The dance-hall award winning artist, Stonebwoy finally had to make it public after several weeks of not confirming the rumors. However, Kelvyn Boy’s reaction to all this is the center of attention now. The former signee to Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music, in an interview on Hitz Daybreak with Andy Dosty said that, everyone but Stonebwoy was proud of him while he was under the label.

Disclosing how surprised and hurt he was about being tagged as ungrateful, Kelvyn Boy stated that his biggest wish was to see Stonebwoy being proud of him. He again added that, he was never disrespectful because he exhibited loyalty and respect to Stonebwoy and everyone at the record label. In his own words:

I am grateful to Stonebwoy for showing me to the world but he was never proud of me. Everybody in the team was but Stonebwoy wasn’t proud of me. Because he has never said i did something good but he was here to say bad things about me.

However, the most shocking thing of all he said was that, he paid for most his music videos, up to 80% of them. He then went on to say, he has never received a dime from what was realized from all his online music streams.

I don’t know anything about royalties. Either Spotify or Youtube revenues i dont have any idea about earnings. i dont need that.

i paid for 80% of my music videos under Burniton Music Group; i had to pay,

Kelvyn Boy also disclosed in the same interview.

I said ‘no’ to being a judge on Mentor reloaded – Mark Okraku-Mantey

0

Remembering shades of the Mentor days, the most popular judge i would say was Mark Okraku Mantey. He was known for his feature of being quite hard to please on the show. Many were elated hearing the news of a massive comeback of the reality show, which went on a long hiatus after running 7 seasons. However, many too were not quite excited about the exclusion of Mark from this new season dubbed Mentor Reloaded.

The list which was released after the launch of the comeback season saw the names of Adina, Trigmatic and Bisa Simons being mentioned as judges. Meanwhile, though reactions from the show lovers suggested their desire for Mark Okraku Mantey’s inclusion, his recent interview with Hitz FM suggests he rather turned down the offer. Answering the question of why he will not be part of the new edition of the singing reality show, he disclosed:

i am not going to be part of Mentor, it was the prerogative of Mentor to want to have me and Dominic on the show. It is also our prerogative to say no

In explanation to that, he added:

When we go for parties and other engagements out there, people ask me when we are coming back, As if i am the owner of Mentor. It is only prudent that we have become part of stakeholders and there, the relationship must be kept. If you do not plan with me and you think i can just come at anytime you call me, that wouldn’t be fair .

Mentor is a very rewarding television singing reality show, organised by one of Ghana’s leading broadcasting networks, TV3.

Sarkodie sings in ‘Saara’ featuring Efya.

From ‘ I’m in with you now’, jorley and the rest, whenever Ghana’s finest rapper, Sarkodie hops on a song with the vocal goddess, Efya it’s always an irresistible piece. Sarkodie gave a slice of vocals on ‘Saara’, the fourth track off his forthcoming Black Love album in which he featured Efya. Sarkodie went all out to passionately express how he will love his lady just the same despite her bad character, Efya too did the same with her immense vocal prowess’s. The song is one of a kind, due to the deeply touching storyline behind it.

The video too magnificently tells the story so well, check it out below.

Sarkodie beasts on ‘Who da Man’ with Kwesi Arthur

0

For once Sarkodie was quite indecisive on this, he was torn between either releasing his first love, a hip-hop tune or one of his ‘commercial’ songs off his forthcoming Black Love album. And guess how he settled the scores, he took to his twitter handle to seek the opinion of his fans on it. Though the fans were predominantly vouching for the fourth single off Black Love, Sarkodie cited that there was the need for some hot hip-hop for this year’s Rapperholic concert.

Finally, the BET award-winning rapper satisfied both sides by resolving to release both tracks, the hip-hop first then the commercial piece. The rapper truly did what he calls ‘ beast on a track’ on this hip-hop piece he calls Who da man featuring Kwesi Arthur.

Stonebwoy dismisses Kelvyn Boy from Bhimnation records, Kelvyn Boy sings praises in reaction.

The most recent update and in fact, the most official one so far on the reported issues at the record label of multiple award winner, Stonebwoy’s Bhimnation Music Group (BMG) confirms the removal of his first signee, Kelvyn Boy from the label. The dancehall artist made this public yesterday, posting the official statement confirming Kelvyn Boy’s disassociation from the label on his social media handles.

Meanwhile, the rumors which made headlines few weeks to now suggested that, there were some kind of an internal rankle ongoing at the record label and Kelvyn Boy was at the forefront of it, as he was the main reason behind the said issues, it was also allegedly reported to have been due to his misconduct towards the label boss, Stonebwoy.  However, though the official statement issued today cited the expiry of their one-year contractual agreement which was eligible for extension and Kelvyn Boy’s conduct, as the rationale behind the decision we could say, the rumors to some extent were actually true.

In view of this, we could again conclude that the reports of Kelvyn Boy’s discourteousness and misconduct towards Stonebwoy have also been vindicated.  Going through the official statement, you would notice an evident disclosure of the fact that, Kelvyn Boy’s conduct could be attributed as the one of the main reasons if not the main reason, that called for this drastic resolution on the matter. The statement read: “…the company has considered the expired status of the Agreement as well as the conduct of Kelvyn Boy during its tenure, and has decided not to trigger the option.”

Kelvyn Boy’s reaction to this, few moments after the statement was made public was rather surprising because he actually shared a throwback live band performance of himself singing praises to God on this social media handles. Watching the video, I was left with only one question, “Does this imply he is happy or at least okay with the decision taken?”.

How Sarkodie made it to the recent BETs, how could he see the future?

0

The news of Ghanaian BET award winning rapper, Sarkodie’s recent nomination at the BETs for the 2019 BET Hip hop awards got many so excited, though not being his first time getting a nomination. The rapper’s nod was in the newly created Best International Flow category,  with other nominees Ghetts (UK), Nasty C (South Africa), Falz (Nigeria), Tony Lanez (Canada), Kalash (France) and Lil Simz competing.

Personally, I thought it was one of the best news to have hit the country in recent years, but to utmost surprise, others were acting rather surprised to the news, wondering of what did the magic for the ‘adonai’ hit maker.  Others claim it all happened just too fast but the truth be told, it did not just happen all at once as they thought, Sarkodie himself kept saying it as far back as earlier in the year, when he released his hip-hip glutted musical piece, Alpha tape(EP). And upon consistently listening to the EP and scrutinizing the lyrics word for word, I got to realize he gave so many clues about the great feats he intends achieving with it this year.

Meanwhile, what was however rather surprising to me was that, he mentioned some of these things as if he could actually see them coming, he sounded as though he could see the future. But from my end, I could say owing to what i have gathered, he knew the great prospects ahead of him because he knew he had worked so hard for it. The statement he made in his ‘Legend’ song on the EP, “ I put in the work me retwen results. M’study me friends m’ahu flaws, m’ahw3 me income m’ahu me profit and loss..” affirms my claim as it literally implies he has put in his best effort into this works so all he awaits are results, he has done his background checks to ascertain his flaws and he has seen his income and also checked his profit and loss as well.

Summing it all up, you would realize Sarkodie’s Alpha tape was the major contributing factor if not the only the factor, responsible for this 2019 BET Hip-hop awards nomination. And he could also foretell the future because he worked so hard to perfect his work pieces, so he could only imagine his works speaking for themselves.
