Since the inception of proceedings to get Ghana’s anti-LGBTQI+ bill passed, there has been a serious brouhaha around the subject matter. These controversies surrounding the passage of the bill being championed by Sam George and other MPs include visa denial threats.
In view of this that Ghanaian international gospel musician, Sonnie Badu has proposed a solution to the ongoing battle over the bill. He suggested that all gays and lesbians (LGBTQI+ members) should be given visas to those countries battling Ghana over the bill.
According to him, instead of fighting over whether the bill is right to be passed or not, those countries taking Ghana on should rather provide asylum visas for those gays and lesbians.
Further speaking, Sonnie Badu noted that some of these gays and lesbians were introduced into the act by rich men, who promised them a better life. So, some of them are just doing it for survival owing to the hardships in the country.
