Burna Boy wins GRAMMY Award for Best Global Music Album - #GRAMMYs

Nigerian music superstar, Burna Boy wins his first Grammy Award. The singer’s album, African Giant, was nominated for the Grammys in 2020 but lost out on the award.

However, at the 63rd Grammy Awards this year, Burna Boy won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album. Thus, he won with the album, Twice As Tall, after losing out in the same category last year.

Burna Boy said in his Grammy Award acceptance speech:

“Africa is in the house… This is a big win for my generation of Africans all over the world. This should be a lesson to everyone that no matter where you are and no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it, no matter where you from. You are a king. Look at me now. Grammy Award winning Burna Boy.”

Meanwhile, Burna Boy beat the likes of Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Tinariwen, to win the nod.
