COVID-19: Ghana’s Minister for Health has the Coronavirus

The Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu is recovering in hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.

The information available to Citi News indicates that the Minister has been receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Accra over the past week.

Multiple sources in the medical team at the hospital who confirmed the information to Citi News say the Dormaa Central MP was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday and is “in a stable condition”.

Citi News checks at the Health Ministry has corroborated the story as information there suggests Mr. Agyeman Manu has taken “a few days off from work” and has not reported to work all week.

The UGMC currently has 4 patients on admission at the ICU with several others in the main wards of the hospital’s COVID-19 wing.

The Health Minister who announced Ghana’s first COVID-19 case in a night broadcast in March this year would be the first high profile government official to have confirmed positive for the novel Coronavirus.

He is known for urging the public to be cautious of the virus during his regular appearances at the bi-weekly press briefings on COVID-19 by the Information Ministry which has been conspicuously put on hold for a while.

The information is coming at a time the leader of government business in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah has lamented how MPs, Parliamentary Service staff, and journalists who tested positive for the virus have refused to self isolate.

Although no names have been mentioned, Mr. Mensah Bonsu’s lamentations suggest more than one person in the House of Legislature has tested positive and this could include MPs.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in the Western Region, Anthony K.K. Sam, has passed away due to an illness close associates have disclosed as COVID-19.

A source at the UGMC in Accra where the MCE died told Citi News his Coronavirus case was compounded by a failure of the lung.

It all began when Sarkodie wanted to do a giveaway during the period of Ghana’s lockdown. Since the rapper was not in Ghana, he took to his twitter handle to inquire from his fans the best shopping and delivery service in Ghana. I guess you know why he did that. He could not figures out the delivery of the items himself because he was out of the country.

The majority of the tweeps, who reacted to Sarkodie’s tweet, according to a subsequent tweet from him, mentioned Jumia. Therefore, the BET award winner got to business with them and the giveaway turned out a big success.

Shatta Wale fiercely reacts to Nana Romeo’s allegations against him alongside Kidi and Wendy Shay’s brouhaha.

Nana Romeo in subsequent interviews after dragging Kidi’s reputation into the mud again took swipes at Shatta Wale. He made claims that he would have even done the same thing to Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, or Stonebwoy if they were the ones in Kidi’s shoes.

Well, it looks like the dancehall act is not letting Nana Romeo go scout free for making such allegations. He has just reacted to those statements following his recent controversial interview with Wendy Shay.

Shatta Wale made it clear to the radio presenter that the entirety of what he does during his artist interview sessions makes no sense. He then went ahead to dare him to call him for an interview soon, so as to settle the scores with him.

Moreover, Shatta Wale also put some of the blame on the artists who go for his interviews, taking into consideration the current state of the Ghanaian music industry. Finally, he gave Nana Romeo a sneak peek what will happen when he tries such ‘nonsense’ on him.

He revealed that would have been the end of Nana Romeo’s career on radio. In addition, he would have given him the hottest slaps of his life even before he could proceed to dealing with him.

The radio presenter, Nana Romeo currently with Accra FM was recently in the news for embarrassing Kidi over his lateness to an interview with him. Well, looks like we have not seen it all yet as he is in the news again, but this time around with Wendy Shay.

Nana Romeo during his interview put it directly to Wendy Shay that, she was dating her record label boss and manager, Bullet but keeps denying it. Wendy Shay quickly shot down his claims down asking why he has to make such claims. Does he live with her?

However, he went on to say that, before he made that statement he had evidence to back it. So why does she not want to come clear on the matter? He then asked her whether he should release the evidence.

According to Wendy Shay, those questions were unprofessional. He was literally putting it to her that she sleeps with Bullet. Wendy Shay had this to say to him before angrily walking out on the interview:

“sei na 3b3 y3 de3 then I have to quit[if this is how the interview is going to turn out then I have to quit]… Me ntumi ntina ha mma wo mmusa me Unprofessional questions a 3mfa 3mfa biribi ara mbr3 me brand. [I cant sit here and watch you ask me unprofessional questions, which adds nothing to my brand] What do mean s3 wo w) prove a wo de reba 3b3 kyer3 s3 me ne Bullet 3wo h) nom? [what do you mean by you have prove to show that Bullet and I are dating?]

Meanwhile, Nana Romeo still kept on pursuing the same answers he wanted from Wendy Shay, despite her registering her displeasure about how the questions were being asked. Moreover, even before she left the radio premises, he still defended his questions stating that he only wanted to give her the opportunity to explain herself.

The reggae compilation album, Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica was released yesterday. The project headlined by Shatta Wale has been doing significantly well on various music charts after its release. Especially Shatta Wale’s song on the album, ‘Dream’ that has risen high on a good number of charts too.

However, the multiple award-winning Dancehall act has been down since yesterday, due to sickness. Though the exact thing wrong with him has not been disclosed, confirmed reports reveal he is unable to go out. That is why he failed to make it to the EIB network’s all-important unveiling ceremony of five new shows on their GhOne TV. Stonebwoy had to step in for him as the co-host of the event hosted by Serwaa Amihire.

You must have ever wondered where and how Kidi gets all the romantic words and the melodies, he fuses into his songs right? You must have sometimes quizzed yourself where he gets the inspiration to write those songs. Well, the award-winning singer is now ready with the answers to that.

The Lynx Entertainment signee had a lot to reveal about it in an interview with Miriam Osei Agyemang on 3FM’s Urban Blend. Kidi disclosed that his source of inspiration varies, but it mostly gets to him in some of the weirdest of places and times. It sometimes gets to him in the middle of doing certain things, ‘somethings’.

“Inspiration hits in the weirdest places and the weirdest times… I may be doing the number two, I may be bathing, I may be in the middle of something” he revealed.

Self-acclaimed Ghanaian children president, Funny Face wept on live TV.  The comedian in an interview broke into tears when asked about the separation from his children(twins), Ella and Bella. He was asked in case he died, what would he like to tell his kids, who are no more with him, if they get to watch that interview when they grow up.

Funny face looked quite confused and sad after the question was asked. He was even speechless for some time before later gathering the courage to answer. But even before could answer he noted that he is a very emotional person.

Sarkodie finally flaunts his resemblance with Titi.

Last week, Sarkodie’s childhood picture popped up on social media, which got many people talking. I even made a story about how that proves he is truly the biological father of Titi. I got blasted for that story, so let me not even go into that again.

However, today the rapper himself has posted a similar picture to that of the one I used in the story I mentioned earlier. Sarkodie posted a grid of his childhood picture with that of his young daughter, Titi, basically flaunting their resemblance.
